We welcome players from U6 through to U18. Age groups are determined by the player's age during the current rugby season.
2. Can my child join if they have turned 5 this year?
If your child is 5, we recommend an assessment by the coach to determine if they can play with the U6 team for safety reasons.
3. Do you offer rugby for girls?
Yes, girls are welcome at Pirates. They may initially play with boys and transition to girls' teams as they progress. We are committed to growing the girls' rugby division.
4. What is TAG Rugby?
TAG Rugby is a non-contact version of rugby for our youngest players (U6-U8). It focuses on skills, teamwork, and introduces rugby fundamentals safely.
5. When does the rugby season start?
Our season typically begins with pre-season training in April, with league fixtures starting in late June.

Player safety is a priority at Pirates Youth Rugby. We follow Boksmart safety guidelines and ensure coaches are trained in safe rugby techniques and player welfare.
